Become a Nonprofit Partner

NPM offers several ways for nonprofits to be involved with the center. This includes being a host site for the Board Fellowship Program and the Summer Internship Program.

Board Fellowship Program

The Nonprofit and Public Management Center's Board Fellowship Program places qualified graduate students as non-voting Fellows on the governing boards of nonprofit organizations in Southeast Michigan. The program is designed to create a cadre of professionals ready to take on board leadership roles upon graduation. It provides graduate students in Business, Public Policy, and Social Work with firsthand insight into the workings and procedures of an actual board, as well as opportunities to contribute to the board's success.

"The project offered a good balance—I got to apply skills that I’ve used in the past, while at the same time learning about the nonprofit world. My Domestic Corps experience with the Urban Ecology Institute has been fantastic from all sides, and I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to apply the things I’ve been learning at Ross to an area that I care about, for an organization that’s doing it so well!"
