Social Impact Challenge Finals

Thurs, Feb. 20, 5-7pm, 6th floor Colloquium, Ross School of Business

The NPM Social Impact Challenge is an opportunity for graduate students to collaborate on addressing real issues for an organization that delivers social impact. NPM partnered with Detroit Future City (DFC) for the 2014 Social Impact Challenge, which focused on strategies to improve transportation access for Detroit's neighborhoods.

  • Keynote address by Ken Cockrel, Jr., Executive Director,
    Detroit Future City Implementation Office and former Detroit Mayor
  • Final student presentations; top prize of $2500 awarded
  • Networking reception with hors d'oeuvres
  • Free and open to the public

Teams were judged by a panel of Detroit leaders and content experts, including:

  • Dan Kinkead - Director of Projects, Detroit Future City Implementation Office
  • Rev. Joan Ross - Director, Greater Woodward Community Development Corporation
  • Andy Didorosi - President & Founder, Detroit Bus Company
  • Dr. Larry Gant - Professor, U-M School of Social Work, School of Art & Design
  • Susan Zielinski - Professor, U-M Taubman School of Urban Planning, and
    Managing Director, SMART (Sustainable Mobility and Accessibility Research and Transformation)
